**This trip is now sold out.** Join Master Sommelier, Michael Meagher and Sommelier, Erica Archer as they host a group of up to 12 people on an incredible trip to the world-renowned wine region of Burgundy, France, October 15-21, 2017.   This is a exclusive and truly rare opportunity to travel to one of the most sought after and complex wine regions of the world, with two sommeliers by your side taking you to highly coveted wineries and Michelin starred restaurants for unforgettable wine and dining experiences.

Michael and Erica will share their extensive knowledge over six luxurious nights in one of the world’s premier wine regions. And you are in for some of the most incredible wines you will ever have in your life.

Here is the proposed schedule. Due to the nature and uncertainty of harvest time this schedule will remain flexible. Any significant updates will be made to confirmed guests as necessary.


Five of the six nights will be spent in Domaine de Cromey, a six-bedroom (all en suite) private château located 30 minutes south of Beaune, France. Cromey’s personal chef will cook breakfast each morning, accompany visitors on a tour of the Dijon market and prepare incredible dinners, exclusively for the group.

Day 1 – Sunday, October 15

Day 2 – Monday, October 16

Michael Meagher

Michael is one of 236 Master Sommeliers in the world and the Principal of Sommelier On-Demand Hospitality Consulting. With nearly 20 years in the hospitality industry, intermingled with a Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, an Associate’s degree from the Culinary Institute of America, a Master’s degree from the University of Adelaide in South Australia, and a Diploma from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust in London, Michael has a rich depth of experience from around the globe that he shares with each bottle he opens and every glass he pours.

He placed third in the country at TOP|SOMM two years in a row, was the winner at the National Finals for Best Young Sommelier, and placed second at the Best Young Sommelier in the World. Michael has worked the entire route to market of some of the greatest wines from around the world. On the academic and trade front, Michael has been published in a number of sources, including the Journal of Culinary Science and Technology, the Guild of Sommeliers and the Sommelier Journal. Additionally, he serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors for the Boston Sommelier Society.

Erica Archer

As the founder of Wine Wise, a service that takes wine tasting to a new level of approachability, Erica Archer has brought the joys of fine wine and perfect food pairings to hundreds of happy wine neophytes and seasoned wine lovers alike.  The rugged and scenic coast of Maine, on whose waters many Wine Wise sunset sailing events are staged, is the place that Erica calls home.  Erica was recently featured in Maine Women magazine, where she describes the discovery of her vocation and the foundation of the ever-evolving experience that is Wine Wise.

Her engaging style and trademark sense of humor turn what could be an intimidating experience for the layperson into a friendly, approachable environment that anyone can enjoy. Her attitude stays true to her belief that the relationships formed during these experiences are as important as the wine that’s shared.

She has obtained high levels of certification in her field. In 2010, she was awarded the Wine Spirit and Education Trust Level Three Advanced Certification in Wines and Spirits, with merit. She became a Sommelier in the American Court of Master Sommeliers. And she received a Certified Wine Professional award from the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, California. She is currently securing her WSET Diploma—the Wine Spirit and Education Trust Level Four Advanced Certification in Wines and Spirits and has served on the Boston Sommelier Society Board of Directors since 2015.

Airfare and connecting travel to Le Creusot TGV or Beaune.  Le Creusot TGV and Beaune are a 30 minute ride from Domaine de Cromey.  Transit will be provided from the TGV station or Beaune to Cromey, but arrival times must be sent in advance to coordinate pick-up.   The hosts will have limited seating in a rental vehicle and can provide connection from Paris to Cromey on Sunday morning for ad additional €50pp on a first come, first served basis.  The final night will be in Lyon and all travel on the concluding Saturday is the responsibility of the guest.  

Trip guaranteed departure is based on 6 attendees.

A non-refundable deposit of 2000.00 per person (covered by trip insurance) is due at the time of your reservation, as is proof of trip insurance. For insurance information please visit InsureMyTrip. The next installment of 2,000 is due 7/1/2017. The remaining balance is due by 9/1/2017.  Currency exchange rates will be based upon the prevailing rate in international markets on close of business the day payments are made.  Full payment may be made in advance.  Payments made in $USD will incur an institutional foreign conversion fee, but shall not exceed 4.9%.  Exchange rate as of 2/9/17 is €1.00=$1.08.  If you would like to lock in this exchange rate and purchase Euros in advance, please consult your financial institution for options.  

Cancellations made after the second installment has been paid, but at least two months in advance of departure will incur a $1000 cancellation fee in addition to the non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made less than two months prior to departure are subject to complete forfeiture of all payments, unless the reservation can be filled, in which case there will be a $2,000 cancellation fee in addition to the deposit.  We do realize that unforeseen circumstances may require a cancellation; this is where your required trip insurance comes in. For insurance information please visit InsureMyTrip.
