Monthly Professionals/Enthusiasts Monthly Blind Wine Tasting
Blind wine tastings are open to anyone trying to learn more about wine, professionally or recreationally. All levels are welcome.

Before each session you will be emailed a wine style to bring to the tasting (e.g., village-level Burgundy, white Rhone, a white Bordeaux, American Merlot, etc…). We will systematically evaluate each wine through a blind tasting to see if we can determine which wine it is based on sight, smell, palate, and finish. We will help each other learn and build tasting skills -- this is an open learning environment.

To attend, you will just need to bring along the assigned wine concealed in a brown bag. There is no additional costs other then the wine you are asked to bring. Please pass along to anyone who you think might be interested in attending (e.g. sommeliers, bartenders, wine sales/distribution, wine geeks, aspiring wine professionals, etc).

The Many Styles of Pork & Pinot Noirs
The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast (www.thechadwick.com), Newfangled Eats (www.newfangledeats.com), and Wine Wise (www.winewiseevents.com) are teaming up to present another amazing season of cooking and wine education classes.

The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast, located in the historic West End, will be the backdrop for your intimate and educational gourmet experience. Your cooking and wine class will be held around the big island in the kitchen, which comfortably fits an intimate setting of eight guests. You’ll get to learn and help prepare the food you’ll enjoy throughout the class as well as understanding how to perfectly pair wines. Plus, we’re there to answer all your food and wine questions!

On January 25, we will focus on the classic pairing of Pinot Noir and pork. With so many delicious cuts available, it’s easy to see why pork is so popular with today’s foodie palette. Come enjoy a diverse menu, from appetizers to desserts, and get inspired to try this old standby in new ways. A great match for this menu is the Pinot Noir grape. Learn about its trademark aromas and flavors, the best growing regions and how diverse this grape can be, depending on where it is grown and how it is made.

French Reds: Bordeaux Right-Bank & Left-Bank, Bandol, and The Languedoc
France produces many of the finest wines loved around the world. Their emphasis on the impact of the “terroir” for where the grapes are grown makes their wine labeling practices different from other countries and often difficult to understand.

Bring your love for wine and join us in this fun event as we taste some of France’s great and affordable red wines including wines from the regions of Bordeaux Right-Bank and Left-Bank, Bandol, and The Languedoc. You’ll walk away with confidence, knowing what makes a good wine at any price, how to pair with food, describe what you smell and taste, and how to select wines with ease.
