As a locally owned and community-driven business, Wine Wise fosters deep connections within the Greater Portland community and collaborates with numerous small, local businesses in the restaurant, beverage, and marine sectors, while also drawing a significant and growing number of newcomers to Maine for world-class wine experiences. In 2023, Wine Wise’s highly acclaimed Wine Sails attracted customers from 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and 111 cities and towns within Maine, and was featured in Yankee Magazine’s “Best of New England, 2023 Summer Guide.” In addition to June-October Wine Sails, Wine Wise’s services include Sommelier-Curated Wine Club and Delivery, National and International Wine Region Trips, Private Events, Consulting, and more.


ABOUT THE CANDIDATES

Desired candidates have a strong work ethic, outstanding time management, organization, communication, and computer skills, the ability to think strategically, and creatively, flourish in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, be detail-oriented, and have a passion for quality work, which are all essential to success in this position. Strong writing, photography, video, and social media skills are a strong plus! 

ABOUT THE JOB

Wine Wise is seeking an organized individual to join our team to assist with Wine Wise and Portland Wine Week events and trip coordination. This position is a hybrid of office and work-from-home hours as well as time at our partner locations, and our events. This position could potentially include some travel within Maine, nationally, and internationally if the candidate so desired. Content will be consistent high-quality video, photography, and copy that showcases Portland, participating restaurant’s events, chefs, sommeliers, wine and food, sponsors, visiting talent, etc.

In this role, you will manage daily support of events and trips to support the owner of the company. You will often manage client communications, thus a client-centric & professional demeanor are required. You will also help coordinate logistics, travel, event details, itineraries, customer communications, and more. Having an eye for details, being excellent at follow-through, and communication, and being great with the organization are all valuable to this position.

There is room for long-term growth in this role. This is a permanent position, we would like someone who is interested in a long-term role.

  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation.


COORDINATION & TEAM COLLABORATION

  • Participate in ongoing weekly or twice-weekly team status/planning meetings

  • Collaborate with the Wine Wise and/or Portland Wine Week teams to develop initiatives and project plans.

  • Brainstorm and pitch new ideas and initiatives.

  • Schedule meetings, email/phone correspondence, and in-person meetings.

  • Collaborate with team members and business partners.

  • Coordinate and schedule correspondence with our partners professionally and efficiently.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred, but not required. Industry experience or familiarity is a strong plus. We are open to an entry-level candidate. 

  • Experience: 0-2 years.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
