The 2010 vintage of Vega Sicilia Único is widely considered one of the greatest vintages of the last century. “Perfection is as rare in wine as in most things in life, but this is a stunning Único.” This winery has a reputation of mythic proportions from the dark horse wine region of Spain, Ribera del Duero. We took an incredible trip to this region in 2022 which cemented it in our minds as the unsung hero of European terroirs. Vega Sicilia, however, is not exactly unsung, in fact, their signature label (always aptly named, Único, Spanish for only) internationally recognized as one of the rarest wines in the world.
